Some places with self-service machines, such as transit stations, may require a pin with your credit card. Before you travel, call the 800 number on the back of your credit card and tell them where you are going and the dates you will be gone. This will protect you from card declines due to suspected fraud.
The Pound is the currency of circulation in the United Kingdom. Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and major stores. You may want to exchange some US Dollars for Pounds. This can be done at Exchange Houses while you are there, however, a credit card is certainly more convenient.
